Nigeria: Next Frontiers in Real Estate is Interior Design

Nigeria held its first ever Fusion of Real Estate, Interior Design, and Art, (FREIA) exhibition and conference in Lagos and emphasis were laid on the need of shifting building design features to internal elements. A structure may be physically appealing outwards, but the main concern is the interior design. The work goes beyond laying bricks, but for a better market, the interior must be critically considered. The theme of the conference was “Next Frontiers: Building Tomorrow’s Masterpieces.”

Speaking during the event, Mr. Tommy Odama, the Group Managing Director and the chief executive officer of Luxury Villas Group emphasized the need for real estate luxury in Nigeria. He praised Burj al’arab building in Dubai for it is an example of a perfect art piece. He also appealed to members who attended the exhibition not to miss the next event scheduled to take place at Civic Centre, Victoria Island in early December 2017.

Recognizing that Nigerian real estate market is expanding fast, he emphasized that the nation need to move steps ahead and have designs of world-class standards. Nigeria needs luxurious real estates to cater for the rising demand for these services, therefore, generating more income to the state.

Mrs. Agatha Eric-Udorie, the chairman and chief executive officer of Agatha’s Interior Design Limited, emphasized on the theme and said that the next frontiers call for proper unification and integration of affordable luxury and architectural designs.

The facilitators of the event echoed the same sentiments adding the popular names in Nigeria’s real estate should explore the options given. They also challenged the audience who partner with architectures to showcase their designs and consider the points mentioned for development of luxurious real estate facilities. This event was purported to be the biggest luxury event of the year with an anticipated 2,000 high net worth brands and investors in attendance.
